Noosa NorthShore Ferries is pleased to announce that, effective tomorrow, Sunday, March 9th, 2025, our ferry service will return to normal operations.

Service Hours:

  • Operating from 5:30 AM to 10:20 PM Daily Sunday - Thursday and 5:30 AM to 00:20 AM Friday/Saturday

We appreciate your patience and understanding during the recent weather events, and we're excited to welcome passengers back on board. Apologies for any inconvenience the closure of our Ferry operation has caused Local businesses and Residents on the Noosa Northshore and Teewah Beach communities.

PUBLIC NOTICE *UPDATE*: FERRY SERVICE EXTENDED CLOSURE DUE TO TROPICAL CYCLONE ALFRED DELAYED ARRIVAL

Noosa North Shore Ferries would like to provide an important update regarding the status of our ferry service following the impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred.

Effective Saturday, March 8th, 2025:
  • Ferry Service Closure: Due to Tropical Cyclone Alfred, which is expected to make landfall on the Queensland and New South Wales coast tomorrow, our ferry service will remain closed Saturday, March 8th.
  • Service Resumption: We anticipate resuming all ferry services from 8:00 AM on Sunday, March 9thsubject to Noosa River flood levels and ongoing safety assessments.
Important Notes:
  • Weather and Flood Conditions: The ability to resume normal services on Sunday will depend on the river flood levels and the safety of our operations. We encourage all passengers to stay updated via our website notifications.
  • Travel Advisory: If you do not live on the Northshore, we strongly advise against travel during this period, as weather conditions may still be severe and water levels in the Noosa river may prohibit operations at certain times within the tide cycle.

PUBLIC NOTICE *UPDATE*: TEMPORARY FERRY CLOSURE DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER

Noosa North Shore Ferries would like to inform the public of an important update regarding our service due to the impact of Cyclone Alfred.

Effective Wednesday, March 5th, 2025:

  • Our ferry service will close from 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 5th, providing we are able to operate safely. Please be aware that this closure time may be earlier, subject to weather conditions and the safe operation of the service.
  • The service will remain closed all day Thursday, March 6th, and Friday, March 7th.
Further Updates:
  • From Saturday onwards, our ferry service will be subject to weather conditions: Service hours and availability will depend on ongoing assessments of the conditions, including tidal heights and strong winds.
Important Notes:
  • If you do not live on the Northshore, we strongly advise passengers to avoid travel during this period.

  • Please stay informed and check for daily updates as we continue to monitor the situation closely.

PUBLIC NOTICE *UPDATE* : TEMPORARY TRAVEL IMPACTS DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER

Noosa North Shore Ferries wishes to inform the public that our service is expected to continue as usual on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025. However, from midday Wednesday, March 5th, and onwards, please be advised that our operational hours may vary due to increased tidal heights and strong winds. These conditions, are expected to cause disruptions, particularly around the high-tide mark, as cyclone Alfred moves closer to the coastline.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide daily updates as conditions evolve.

Important Information:

  • Operational hours may vary around high tides.
  • Travel of heavy vehicles, buses, and caravans is not recommended at this time and will be subject to the discretion of the skipper on duty.
  • Skippers will assess conditions and determine whether it is safe to permit any and all vehicles to cross the Noosa River.
  • We urge all passengers to check current conditions prior to arrival at the ferry.

PUBLIC NOTICE: TEMPORARY TRAVEL IMPACTS DUE TO SEVERE WEATHER

Noosa North Shore Ferries advises that due to severe weather conditions, including extreme wind warnings and king tides, travel times may be affected from Friday the 28th of February until Friday March 7th. Please be aware that adverse weather conditions may cause delays and disruptions to our ferry service.

Important Information:

  • Travel times may be extended or altered due to weather impacts.
  • Travel of heavy vehicles, buses, and caravans may be limited and subject to the discretion of the skipper on duty.
  • Skippers and deck-staff will assess conditions and determine whether it is safe to permit these vehicles to cross the Noosa River.

We urge all passengers to check current conditions and allow extra time for their journey. Safety is our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding during this period of adverse weather.

Operational Status

Noosa North Shore Ferries are operating as normal, with departures approximately every 10 minutes between 5:30 am till 10:20 pm daily Sunday – Thursday, and 5.30 am till 12:20 am on Friday & Saturdays.
