Noosa Northshore Ferries – River Conditions Update

Following the recent heavy rainfall across the region and the Minor Flood Warning for the Noosa River, conditions in the area are now beginning to improve.

At this stage, it appears we have moved through the worst of the flooding, and river levels are expected to continue returning to safer operating conditions from today onwards.

Our team will continue to closely monitor river levels, tides, and weather conditions; however ferry services are currently operating as normal between Tewantin and Noosa Northshore.

Due to elevated river levels, ferry ramps remain steeper than usual. Customers travelling in buses, motorhomes, lowered vehicles, or vehicles towing trailers are asked to take extra care when boarding and disembarking the ferry, and to follow all instructions from our deck crew to ensure safe loading and unloading.

Noosa Northshore Ferries – Service Update

Minor Flood Warning – Noosa River

Due to recent heavy rainfall across the region, a Minor Flood Warning has been issued for the Noosa River.

At this stage, Noosa Northshore Ferries will remain open and operating as normal for residents, workers, and visitors travelling between Tewantin and Noosa Northshore on Monday 9 March 2026.

We will continue to closely monitor river conditions as upstream water moves through the Noosa River system. Updates will be provided if there are any changes to services, including possible deviations from our regular operating hours.

Fortunately, the higher high tides over the coming days are currently forecast to occur outside our normal operating hours, and tidal volumes are expected to gradually reduce. This gives us a reasonable level of confidence that ferry operations will continue throughout the current wet weather event.

Current Operating Hours

Sunday – Thursday:
05:30am – 10:20pm

Friday – Saturday:
05:30am – 12:20am

We encourage customers to check our website and social media pages for the latest updates before travelling.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we monitor conditions.
